To celebrate the golden jubilee of ASEAN establishment, Thai Journalists Association sponsored by Thai AirAsia, a low-fares affiliate carrier of AirAsia Group, to organize exclusive training and workshop program for travel journalists acrossthe ASEAN countries. The program titled “ASEAN Travel Journo Camp” will select two journalists from each ASEAN country who specialise in travel feature coverage to participate in a 9-day educational excursion in Thailand from August 17-25, 2017.
The program will help to strengthen participants’ positive attitude toward a travel journalism career, while also elucidating how they can contribute to greater livelihood of the ASEAN tourism community. Participants will roam the scenic landscape of the north and seascape of the south of Thailand to visit picturesque tourist attractions, and most importantly acquire first-hand experiences in local communities that are focusing on driving the community-based tourism development.
Participants will receive full sponsorship from the program which includes flights to/from Thailand, accommodations, meals and activities during the range of the program. They will be presented with fruitful experiences and learning opportunities promised beneficial to their travel journalism career, as well as getting to expand their network of sources in the Thai tourism industry. The participants will not only be wearing a journalist hat but also being a cultural ambassador of their home-country who is able to share constructive ideas and solutions relevant to regional tourism issues.*As a country’s representatives, successful candidates are required to design a 10-minute presentation focusing on problematic issues they think are hampering tourism industry in their respective countries.

Eligible applicants should represent the following qualifications;
· Good English proficiency
· 35 years old, or below
· Minimum 2-year experience in journalism profession
· Be a member of the press and a permanent resident of one of the ASEAN-member countries
· Specialise in travel feature; or lifestyle, culture or tourism-related coverage
· Able to be away from the office during the program’s period
· Passion in travel journalism and willingness to participate
· Be in good health
