Phnom Penh: on August13, 2015, Club of Cambodian Journalists (CCJ) with support from Konrad Adenauer Stiftung invited Janet Steele – an Associate Professor of Journalism at the School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University – to be a lecturer at a training workshop with the topic of “Doing good journalism in an age of electronic media” for 25 working young journalists.
The one-morning workshop conducted at CCJ office aims at improving capacity of young Cambodian journalists and sharing with them knowledge and experience from American journalism field, especially online news.
During her presentation, Professor Janet focused on how to be good journalists at the time of media revolution from the traditional one to the social media. All people around the world need good truthful information and reliable news and journalists must improve their writing skill and respect journalism principles and ethics in order to gain truth from the public, she said.
One of CCJ missions is to help improve capacity of Cambodian journalists so that they can compete with their regional counterparts at the time of online is dramatically booming.
